PAT Testing

We will make sure all your electrical equipment is safe to use

Our qualified electricians follow guidance as detailed by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) when undertaking all Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) suggests that initial intervals for combined inspection and testing can range from three months for construction equipment to yearly for inspection of electrical equipment in offices.

PSS: Panad Site Services PAT Testing Engineers systematically and thoroughly test all electrical appliances. All tested equipment is labelled: green for a pass, red for a fail, blue for a visual test.

What the law requires

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state that there is a need to maintain a regular program of inspection and testing of all electrical equipment. The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 puts the duty of care upon the employer and employee (and the self-employed) to ensure the safety of all persons within the workplace.

Wear and tear on portable electrical appliances can increase the risk of an electric shock, or even a fire. All items of electrical equipment in the workplace which plugs into a socket, e.g., computers, kettles, phone chargers, fridges, tools etc. need to be tested.
